Phonological Awareness

This week students practiced identifying everyday sounds. You can play a game with your student to reinforce this skill at home. Have your child cover their eyes, and make noises like closing a door, ringing the door bell or banging on a pot. Have your student open their eyes and identify the object that made the noise!

Position Words

This week we learned about position words. Here is a game you can play to help your child practice using position words: Have your child get their favorite stuffed animal. Ask them to do the following tasks:

1. Put the animal on your head.

2. Put the animal on your shoulder.

3. Put the animal under your arm.

4. Put the animal beside your face.

5. Put the animal behind your back.

6. Put the animal in your hand.

Crazy About Counting!

This week student practicing counting sets of objects. You can reinforce this concept by having students count objects like pieces of cereal or candy.

Letter of the Week!

Our letter this week is the letter Ff. Students practiced writing the letter and identify objects that start with Ff. Have your student go on an Ff hunt for objects that start with Ff around your home!

It’s Me!

The theme this week was “It’s Me!” Students learned about different feelings. In Science, we also talked about body parts, and in Social Studies we talked about what makes each of us special. In art students drew a self-portrait, and in music we sang songs to get to know one another’s names.
